Business Administration Learnership
(FET Certificate: Business Administration Services NQF Level 4 Saqa ID 61595)

This Further Education and Training certificate qualification is presented in line with SAQA qualification 61595, and will be beneficial to any employee who finds him/herself in the administration function of an organisation. Learners will explore several elements of business administration, promoting professional and personal growth; this will be achieved through the following modules;

Efficient Business Administration:
  • Apply the budget function in a business unit
  • Contract service providers
  • Describe and apply the management of stock and fixed assets in a business unit
  • Develop administrative procedures in a selected organisation
  • Manage administration records
  • Manage service providers in a selected organisation

Customer Service:
  • Accommodate audience and context needs in oral communication
  • Apply knowledge of statistics and probability to critically interrogate and effectively communicate findings on life related problems
  • Engage in sustained oral communication and evaluate spoken texts
  • Interpret a variety of literary texts
  • Interpret and use information from texts
  • Present information in report format
  • Read analyse and respond to a variety of texts
  • Use the writing process to compose texts required in the business environment
  • Write for a wide range of contexts
  • Write texts for a range of communicative contexts

Personal Development:
  • Achieve personal effectiveness in business environment
  • Apply efficient time management to the work of a department/division/section
  • Describe how to manage workplace relationships
  • Display cultural awareness in dealing with customers and colleagues
  • Work as a project team member

Research Skills:
  • Analyse new developments reported in the media that could impact on a business sector or industry
  • Measure, estimate & calculate physical quantities & explore, critique & prove geometrical relationships in 2 and 3 dimensional space in the life and workplace of adult with increasing responsibilities
  • Use mathematics to investigate and monitor the financial aspects of personal, business, national and international issues

The Organisational Environment:
  • Comply with organisational ethics
  • Describe and assist in the control of fraud in an office environment
  • Monitor and control reception area
  • Process incoming and outgoing telephone calls

The learnership consists of 24 - 30 contact sessions, of 8 hours each, and can run over a period of 12 to18 months. The distribution of these contact sessions can be scheduled to suit the needs of the client.

Training will take place at the client’s place of business; an alternative venue can be arranged at the client’s expense.
